ASD was founded in 1992 by 39 members with purposes of fostering the growth of packaging industry, giving an identity to the sector, representing the sector in national and global arenas, establishing scientific, technical, and social cooperation and solidarity among members. In 2023 ASD has 251 member companies who operate in Turkey; flexible plastic packaging, rigid plastic packaging, glass packaging, metal packaging (aluminum & steel), paper, cartonboard, corrugated cardboard, wood packaging, packaging machinery, label, closures & caps, raw materials and other auxiliary packaging materials. Activities ASD Packaging Congress, Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition, ASD Packaging Academy, Ambalaj Dünyası - Packaging World & Pack Converting magazines, Packaging eBulletin, Eurasia Packaging Istanbul Fair, ASD Packaging Museum, Student Competitions, International Events & Competitions, Turkish Packaging Industry Report, University - Industry Cooperation, Packaging Library, Government Relations & Corporate Communication works. ASD is the member of WPO- World Packaging Organization, APF-Asian Packaging Federation , IAPRI-International Association Packaging Research Institutes , WDO - World Design Organization and also one of the founding members of ASDF - Federation of Packaging Manufacturers Associations in Turkey.
This magazine that is published by ASD Packaging Manufacturers Association in Turkey three times a year in Turkish has an intensely professional content and is distributed to about 4.500 per issue people including top executives and technical and administrative representatives of companies that produce and use packaging, public organizations related to packaging, people and organizations that carry out training and academic work. The magazine which includes both translations and original articles from domestic and foreign sources is delivered to certain addresses and distributed in related domestic and foreign exhibitions and similar places. The number of printed and delivered magazines can rise up to 7.000 at times when there are a high number of exhibitions. Ambalaj Dünyası The Packaging World includes sector news as well as technical subjects, environmental subjects, legislation, design and many other subjects from domestic and foreign sources. Anyone can subscribe for a price for the bulletin which is sent to ASD members and selected lists free of charge.
Pack Converting Magazine has been published and distributed by ASD Packaging Manufacturers Association in Turkey twice a year about 1500 per issue number for packaging and packaging machine producers.
Crescents and Stars for Packaging Competition is organized by the ASD Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association every two years. The competition is for packaging products manufactured and launched by both Turkish companies and all other companies abroad. The competition was accredited by WPO-World Packaging Organization and APF-Asian Packaging Federation. Main Goals of the Competition; To promote and strengthen in international markets the corporate identities of the packaging products manufactured in Turkey & the World To offer participants the opportunity to earn their original designs better positions in international markets. Packaging that will be crowned with the 2022 Crescents and Stars for Packaging awards will be judged in different product categories that are in harmony with those laid down in the WorldStar organized by WPO and the AsiaStar organized by APF.
